Stung On Forehead, Pain In Nose And Upper Teeth, Swelling. Is It Something Dangerous?

I was stung by ( I think) a yellow jacket yesterday on the forehead and the crown of my nose and upper teeth began to hurt shortly afterwards and only my forehead was swollen. This morning my eyes are like slits and my cheeks are pretty big. I feel a little wonky, but nothing serious. When can I expect the swelling to stop increasing and does this mean I am safe from a severe reaction since the major swelling was slow to appear? Thank you!

Hi,

It seems that you may be having angio oedema.

There are many causes. It may be idiopathic.

As you said in your case, it is yellow jacket bite.

The lips, eye lids, forehead and ears may be oedematous and irritation may be there.

Take antihistaminics like fexofenadine or levocetirizine may be taken.

Steroids in tappering dose may be taken.

I think you might be alright in few days.

You consult dermatologist. If needed injectable steroids or adrenaline may be taken.

Thanks.
