String Like Growth Near The Clitoris. What Is It?

Hello I am 18 years old and not sexually active, over the past few weeks I have noticed a string-like growth behind my clitoris, it does not cause any pain, I just want to know what its attendance means and want to ask what it is? Is it a possible threat? Am I in any danger? I am very worried and would like an answer. I have yet to consult a doctor but please let me know if I should or if it s a normal thing. Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you

Hello
Thanks for your query.
I think what you describe sounds like a vaginal skin tag.
They are commonly found on the labia minora, at the entrance to the vagina.
They are harmless skin growths, and are often exacerbated by friction due to clothing, sex or rubbing vigorously while bathing or masturbation.
They require no treatment unless cosmetically unappealing.
Otherwise they could rarely be genital warts, and then they are a cause for concern.
Only a gynecologist after examining you could tell you what they actually are.
Take care.
