Stools With White Clumps, Stringy Substances. Changed To High Protein Diet. Causes For Symptoms?

The last 3 days I ve passed stools that appear to have white clumps of a stringy like substance intertwined in it. I have changed my diet and eat more protein than usual. I also started working out. The diet change was about a month ago as well as the working out. Any idea what it could be? Is it just something associated with the high protein diet and a reduction in carb intake?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to parasites in the stool.

I suggest doing a stool test to confirm the diagnosis.

If the diagnosis is confirmed I suggest taking Mebendazole tablets.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
