Stomach Pain, Light Headed, Vomiting. What Is Wrong?

Hi, I went out to dinner Friday night and suddenly got a stomach ache. My friend who I was with asked if I felt okay, because I didn t look okay. I thought I just had a stomach ache and it would go away once our food arrived. As I tried to convince myself I was okay, I started getting lightheaded and queasy. I knew I wasn t okay, so I dismised myself to the restroom. As I started walking to the restroom I uncontrollably threw up and couldn t stop. I ran to the restroom and threw up again. After cleaning myself up, I went back to the table and started to eat my dinner. I made it threw dinner, feeling a little better, but once I got into the car, I rolled the window down and threw up again. I didn t know what was wrong with me. I haven t thrown up that much since I was little ! What do you think happened to me?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Uncontrollable vomiting can be due to many a reasons and as per your history the possibilities area:
Gastritis.
Gastroenteritis.
Other causes like typical smell, movements and so on.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Take a PPI like Pantoprazole or Ranitidine.
Tablet Domperidone or Metoclopramide for vomiting.
Antacids.
If these do not help you then please rush to nearby hospital or ER for intravenous injections, and fluids to avoid dehydration, get relevant investigations and further management as per the cause found.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
