Started Contraceptives. Why Did I Have A Breakthrough Bleeding? Due To Unsafe Sex?
Hello, I m Danielle I started the contrespitive patch on the 11th of july and only used it for 5days because it was making me feel really un-well i couldn t even leave my bed. And a couple of days later i started bleeding after i stopped it. Would i class that as my period or breakthrough bleeding . I Started the patch on my normal period and obviously started bleeding again after i stopped using the patch. Because i am unknown to when my next period will show. I also had unprotected sex a week after i started bleeding and i had just stopped bleeding. I don t know if there was any chance i could be pregnant. Help please :) thankyou.

The bleeding you had was most likely a breakthrough bleeding. Since you had an unprotected sex after stopping using the patch, the chances of pregnancy are present. You need to check for pregnancy in case your periods are overdue.
