Started Primolut N. Have Periods. Will The Tablets Make The Periods Stop?

Hi,

I picked up a prescription of Primolut N yesterday evening and started them straight away (1 tablet, 3 times a day). However, I started my period not long after taking my first pill. If I continue to take the pills, will my period stop? If not, is there anyway I can speed it up so I don't need to worry about it by Friday night? My fiance has been away for a year and he's coming home then, the timing is not ideal to say the least! =) Thank you!

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

It seems that you might have taken this tablet for postponement of period for some time.

But now as you started period, it is useless to continue with this tablet.

Consult your prescribing doctor and seek his advice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ramesh M.Vachharajani
