Stage 4 Lung Cancer, Have Numbness In Abdominal Area With Tightening. Reason?
Hi, I'm a 47 yr old stage 4 cancer patient with multiple but small lesions scattered in both lungs. I have had a hysterectomy and ovaries removed and am taking phamara (sp?) which has shrunk the lesions by 33% and is holding them steady. I have gained about 80 lbs over the past two year (diagnosis was in march of 2011. My new problems is that I have noticed a numbness in my left upper abdominal area as well as a tightening and pressure when I stretch and bend. I will call my oncologist tomorrow, but my fears are making me quite envious. My last x-ray and blood work was two weeks ago and there was nothing changed. Thank you for any suggestion!
Hi, You have mentioned that you have stage 4 cancer. But the primary you have not mentioned. It may be ovarian cancer as you have mentioned about the hysterectomy and ovaries removal. Anyway, tightness at particular area over abdomen and associated tingling numbness should be carefully investigated. Very often this is the earliest symptom of spinal cord compression. Consult your doctor. Clinical examination is necessary.
