Spotting For 4 Months Without A Cycle, Complex Cyst On Left Ovary And Tube, Suggested Complete Hysterectomy. Is It Healthy ?
I am 50 and 1/2...I have been spotting for 4 months after 12 months without a cycle. I have a complex cyst on my left ovary and tube. Doctor has suggested that I have a complete hysterectomy...remove ovaries and all...can't really see my right ovary so we don't know what shape it is in...I have family history of breast cancer,,,personal history of Phlebitis...should I remove right ovary if it is healthy?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Amennorrhea for one year at the age 51 years , considered as onset of perimenopaue , so also need not to worry. Now there is ovarian cyst on the left side , this is also a cause of amennorrhea. Ovaries at the time of menopause somewhat atrophied , so don't worry. In my opinion consult one more gynaecologist/ surgeon and get their opinion for hysterectomy as in my opinion this is not necessary according to this query. Good luck. Dr. HET
