Spotting Again After Periods Due To 72 Hour Pill, Delayed Periods. Pregnant ?
my boyfriend and I had a mishap on the 9th of august, I had just finished a period which came on the 5thof august. the next day I drank a 72 hour pill. couple days later I had spotting, it was very light. the next week we had sex but he didn't cum in me. I was scheduled to get my period on the 1st of September but I did not. I took a test on the 3rd of September but the results showed negative. could I be pregnant or is the pill delaying my period. I took the pill before and this had never happen.
Hello Thanks for your query. It is very common for the emergency contraceptive pill to alter your normal expected menstrual cycle. Your normal periods might be delayed or preponed by upto a week or sometimes more. So please do not worry. What you are experiencing is most probably a side effect of the pill. If you do not have your period within a week more, then repeat the pregnancy test. All said and done, 72 hour pills are NOT a substitute for regular birth control. All the best.
