Sore Throat, Runny Nose, Dizziness. Is It Common Cold? Chances Of Wills Virus?

Doctor, i am an american living in okinawa japan and im starting to have symptoms of the common cold ... runny nose , sore throat , dizziness . however, im not sure if it is the common cold or the virus that s been going around lately. i live in a house with 2 sick people, then at work there are several people around me that also have the cold. but i ve seen on the news lately about wills virus and am afraid i may have that. how can i be sure? and would it be recommended for me to stay home from work so that it wont spread? please help... thanks

HI I have gone through your mail and as you said that you are having nasal discharge and congestion and you feel dizzy also.You are worried about the causative agent and the mode of spread of infection so that other people can be save.In this matter I would like to suggest you that you should go for culture and sensitivity of nasal discharge to confirm the causative agent may be bacteria or virus.whatsoever the causative agent is you have upper respiratory tract infection and that spread by air,called as air born infection,to prevent it's spread one should live in open well ventilated room,affected persons should take proper treatment,unaffected individuals should use face mask,smoking should not be shared,during sneezing one should cover own nose.Thanks.
