liquids can be used, they would also have a numbing effect.
Oral anti inflammatory analgesics such as ibuprofen/cataflam/voltaren
would also be helpful. Normally the discomfort subsides after a few days.
If it persists or worsens, it is possible that it is a bacterial infection , in which case, antibiotics would be necessary.
