Sore Throat, No Allergy Symptoms. Lump Felt At Back Of Adam's Apple. How To Cure?

I ve had a sore feeling on the left side of my throat off and on for several days now. No cold or allergy symptoms associated with it. There does seem to be a feeling of a lump or irritation back by the Adam s apple. I don t smoke , and never have. Also, I have been having some trouble at night when falling asleep, as if my windpipe is closing on me.
