Sore Throat, Hurts While Swallowing, Voice Got Deeper, Bruns While Breathing. What Could It Be ?

I have had a very sore throat since Monday (5 days). No other syptoms. No runny nose . No cough . It seams to be in my windpipe so teas, honey and cough drops are not exactly getting to the affected area. It hurts when I swallow . Now My voice is deeper than my husbands, or sometimes I cant get a sound out at all. I have not been overusing my voice at all. The only change is that i have started a new diet and excersize regimine. I have been visiting a new lake park, but I have never had allergies before. again, no runny nose. It burns when I breath, and it is painful to swallow. What could it be? How can I treat it?

Hello and welcome,

Thanks for your query.

Have you experienced a fever? Your symptoms match most upper respiratory tract problems, and could even be an infection of the same area.

It would be best if you visit a doctor, a Physician or an ENT specialist who be able to examine your throat and find the cause to your symptoms.

Do not worry about your voice and the pain while swallowing as they are all related to the possible diagnosis.

It is most probably an upper respiratory infection and the pain you feel while swallowing is due to the inflammation of your tonsils.

A course of antibiotics and an antiseptic solution will rid you of your symptoms. You will have to visit a doctor so we can confirm the diagnosis and start the treatment.

I hope I have succeeded in answering your questions, you could write back to us anytime for further clarifications.

Best wishes.
