Sore Throat, Bumps Near Throat, Nasty Access Mucus Comes Out

I had a really sore throat the past few days and now it s finally starting to feel better. But I noticed a bump on the top back left part of my mouth near my throat. It doesn t really hurt, I can just feel it sometimes when I swallow or go to get some nasty access mucus out. I m a constant worrier. Do you think this was caused by my sore throat? Email me at YYYY@YYYY thank you!

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, The bump you are seeing in your throat is most likely a lymphoid follicle which gets enlarged as a reaction of body to the infective agents. This will give rise to a foreign body feeling in the throat. Please use some antiseptic gargles for few days and the problem should be over. in case it persists, please see an ENT ant the bump can be cauterized. Regards
