Hi,Calf pain can arise from a variety of conditions ranging from accidental trauma to nerve conditions. Calf pain in the absence of trauma or other symptoms is commonly due to a muscle cramp, also called a “charley horse.” However, there are more serious conditions that lead to calf pain, such as peripheral artery disease.Any swelling like fibroma, lipoma or any other tumor may be the cause.Sciatica, nerve damage due to DM or vitamin B12 deficiency, past trauma, varicose veins, osteomyelitis, cellulitis arthritis may be ruled out. Tumorous growth of bone may cause throbbing pain in calf.

Calf pain can be due to deep vein thrombosis (a blood clot in the leg), which is a serious and life-threatening condition. If you are experiencing calf or leg pain after mild exercise or exertion, or if you are experiencing pain, swelling, redness, and warmth in the calf, you consult either general sugeon or vascular sugeon. Laboratory diagnosis, radiologic diagnosis shoul be done to come to one diagnosis. the detected cause should be treated.Recurrence of throbbing leg pain can be prevented to some extent with a healthy lifestyle that includes healthy eating and regular workouts to improve strength and flexibility of the leg muscles. It is also advisable to abstain from alcohol and smoking. Remember to see the doctor at the earliest if you suffer from recurring leg pain.... Ok
