Smoker With Persistent Cough, Chest Pain, Blood In Sputum. Pain In The Bones. Lung Cancer?

Hello. Well, there is something that concerns me for quite some time now. I am 20 year old male, going 21 in December. I've been smoking cigarettes for about 4 years now. Can't really tell you the amount, but it doesn't go over 20-pack a day. I had a persistent cough for months now, including chest pains. First just on the left side, now on both sides. The chest pains are random, sometimes they occur when I inhale or exhale, but it's usually random. Two months ago I've noticed blood in my sputum. There wasn't a lot of it, just a string. Since then I've been seing blood in my sputum every now and then, and like the first time, it's just a few strings of blood. I also get bone pains, usually in my fingers. What is wrong? Is it lung cancer? Is it possible to get lung cancer at that age?

HI,
Thanks for your query,
You are too young to have a lung cancer but you have crossed the limit of smoking as the cutoff value mentioned for lung cancer.
I feel you must go for a chest X-ray followed by Ct scan chest to have it clesr the cause of bloody sputum. It may be a simple bronchitis or tuberculosis.
Also go for one sputum examination for tuberculosis....
Chest pain is a non-specific sign in your case....

Best wishes
