Smoked Marijuana, Nervousness, Unable To Sleep. Random Urine Test Done. Will It Be Detected?

I havent smoked marijuana in years but on the fourth of July I smoked 2 hits of a homegrown joint . I caught a slight high for about a half hour. I am 39 years old, 5 10 and weigh 170 lbs. I run 4 miles almost every day and lift weights every morning at 4 am. I took a randomness urine test for work on July 19, I am very nervous, can t sleep or eat since. It was a one time mistake! Will I be ok ?

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I understand your concerns. Smoking marijuana may increase your nervousness, insomnia and yes, it will be detected in a urine tox screen. I believe that you need to stop using the marijuana and consult a psychiatrist that is trained in the treatment of substance use disorders to be able to quit the habit and get on the path to recovery.

I hope this helps. Take care of yourself and have a lovely day!
