Smelly Stuff Coming Out After Squeezing Hole In Armpit. Had Chickenpox Week Ago. Anything To Worry?
Hi, im 21 years old and a couple weeks ago i had the chicken pox and i found a hole in my armpit and when i squeezed it, some white, yellow, smelly stuff kept coming out of it. I kept squeezing til there was no more and i just checked y armpit and the whole is still there and i squeezed it and a little of that same stuff came out but the hole is still there. should i be worried?
Hello, The description is suggestive of an abscess resulting from secondary bacterial infection of the Chicken pox lesions. It may need further draining or nothing at all. You may also need antibiotics. Kindly visit a doctor if it remains or worsens. Definitely visit a doctor if you also have fever. Wishing you good health, Dr. Arun Mohan
hi, ur concern for ur skin is geniune. the material you squeezed out may be sebum which is a natural secretion of the oil glands present in skin. at ur age, oil glands are much active so the collection of sebum is a common phenomenon. scar of chicken pox if present close to oil gland can accumulate sebum. no need to worry, don,t squeeze much it can get infected. relax.
