Pediatrician 's  Response

After an episode of loose stools- many kids will have exaggerated gastro colic reflex i.e. immediately after eating food, they will pass stools- that does not mean that they did not tolerate that food.

Rice, Dal, Idli are good during diarrheal episodes- I think it will not be a problem if you give them.

You may also give plenty of curd- as curd has probiotic bacteria naturally.
Give her vegetable soups, porridge- made of rice or sago, boiled and mashed potato, mashed banana etc.
You may also give her flavoured ORS that will be available in chemist shop.
Probiotic sachet like Econorm/ Bifilac- half sachet twice a day for a week- will help in resumption of normal gut flora.

Usually formula milk, fruit juices are better to be avoided during a diarrheal illness- as they tend to increase the frequency of stools.

Hope my answer helps you.
Wish your daughter a speedy recovery.

Homeopath Dr. Rooma Ramnani's  Response
hello lin2008,
if ur daughter is fine with liquid diet and trouble from solid diet, it is advisable to give her liquid diet for another 3-4 days followed by semi solid diet like mashed fruits or mashed potatoes or porridge. then gradually go with normal diet after a week or so, along with this it is preferable to give her curd and lemon juice to make her digestive system strong.
for a proper diet advise u may contact at
take care.
