Small Child, Pus Filled Boils Or Cysts Around Anus. Using Diaper's. Cause Of Worry?

How are you, Doc My son is three, and I ve been noticing these little water/ pus filled boils/ cysts I don t know exactly what to call them around his anal region. I use pampers at night & during babysitting as I am a working mother. I had been searching about this in the internet today just then I stumbled upon your space. It would relieve me if the condition is something not to worry about! Thank you

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

Since how long have you been noticing the boils/cyst and do they hurt your son when you touch them. If these are of recent origin and painful to touch then you need to consult your doctor. The skin is probably getting infected and may need treatment depending on the cause.

The prolonged used of pampers without change may be affecting the skin. It can either be a bacterial or even a fungal infection.

I hope I have responded to your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son all the best.

Regards,

RKK
