Small Child, Diarrhea, Watery Eyes, Hot To Touch, Excessive Sleeping. Are These Signs Of Teething?
My 11 month old daughter for the last four days has had diarrhea and her eyes seem to be glassy. She feels hot at the touch but does not have a temp. She has 3-4 teeth coming in. She seems to sleep all the time and has been refusing her solid food but not milk. Our these signs for teething or should I be taking her in to the doctor.
Hi,
The baby, according to what you have said, seems to be listless as she probably is under dehydration. Try to give her plenty of liquids including electrolytes. The dehydration could be serious if the child does not pass any urine at all or passes only high colored scanty urine. This could be a teething problem; infections set in as children bite everything and anything that comes in the way to control the itching they face while teething. Since the diarrhea has been there for the past four days, it is better if you can take her to her pediatrician for an antibiotic and may be electrolyte replacement. Take care.
