Doe he suffer from constipation?
If he does ...he might complain of abdominal pain like this.
Give him a glycerine suppository per rectally followed by a stool softener thrice daily for 14 days.
Give him lots of fluids, roughage and fruit drinks.Give him some yogurt after lunch.

Pediatrician Dr. Rajiv K Khandelwal's  Response

Thank you for your query.

The history provided by you suggests that your son has constipation which can be the reason for the pain in the abdomen. I suggest that you give him a glycerine suppository so that he passes motion. You may have to repeat the suppository for 2-3 days till all the hard stools are cleared.

Simultaneously ensure that his diet includes a lot of roughage so that the problem of constipation does not occur. You may like to look at my article on constipation and high fiber diet at

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.
