Slipped On Steps, Hit Elbow. Shooting Pain In Left Arm, Swelling In Elbow. Reasons ?
Slipped on some steps and landed on buttocks and hit left elbow . Able to move left arm but have shooting pain at times when trying to lift something s with left arm. Also have some swelling around the top of the left elbow. It hurts to even try and close the car door with my left arm. Could they be any injury or is it just a bad bruise?

It is always better to get x ray to see if there is any hairline fracture or a ligament injury. Some time even a trivial looking fall can cause severe injuries. Till you get above mentioned investigation I would suggest you to apply ice and compression bandage. Avoid any massage or lifting heavy weight.
