Slight Cramps. Arthrotec Pills Taken, On Birth Control Pills. Suggestions?

I took 4 pills of Arthrotec 75mg/.2mg and placed them under my tongue until dissolved to hard coating about ten minutes. Three hours later I placed 3 pills under my tongue following the same process. Waited 3 more hours and administered the last three pills. However, there is a little cramping, nothing significant and absolutely no bleeding. Do I need to wait longer? I am still taking my birth control, would that inhibit the release? What should I do next? Is there a better process? How long do I need to wait until I can try again?

Hello,
thanks for using health care magic

It would have been more easier to comment if you had stated why you took the tablets. From the first words, you sound as though you took them for the cramps but a the end, you sound it was meant for some other reason and you were expecting to bleed.

Well, arthrotec, contents diclofenac and misoprostone. Diclofenac is a pain killer but causes heart burns or gastric ulcers. Misoprostone is used to control peptic ulcer symptoms and when used in combination with diclofenac, prevents the ulcer causing properties of the diclofenac.

However, misoprostol has a side effect which is widely used; it causes contractions of the uterus thus leading to abortions.

Effective use of contraceptives has very limited chances of leading to pregnancy. Unless, one skips some days or takes the pills irregularly, there should be no fear of falling pregnant.

Hope this helps you.
