normal sleep has two types 1.REM(rapid eye movement
2.NON REM(non rapid eye movement)
rem comprises of 20 to 25 % of total sleep and occeurs in 4 to 5 episodes usually starting and early morning sleep..
usually rem sleep has dreams ,rapid eye movement and brain is active..
and lack of rem sleep may cause hallucinations
,lack of concentraion,headache,irritability on waking..
so,both sleeps are important and medication causing sleep should mimic normal sleep for relief...consult a psychiatrist
,explain your problem so that they alter the dose ,or add a drug for better and proper sleep..
