1. seroquil [Quetiapine] is an atypical anti psychotic drug which is basically given for elderly patients with dementia-related psychosis, who do not have adequate response with anti depressants and is not approved for patients under the age of 10 years due to increased incidence of suicidal tendency.
2. Interactions: increased risk of
drowsiness, and
postural hypotension when used with alcohol.
. Adverse Drug Reaction: headache, asthenia,
abdominal pain,back pain,fever, chest pain,
constipation, dry mouth, diarrhea, leucopenia, weight gain, dizziness,anxiety, rhinitis, elevated transaminase levels, dry skin, UTI, decrease in thyroid hormone levels, elevation in
lipid profile.
