Sleep Walking, Found Talking To A Wall, Legs Feel Weak, Knees Hurt. Should I See The Doctor?

I must have been sleepwalking on Saturday night, I don't remember going to sleep, but I kind of "came to" when my husband heard me talking in another room, he came in and I was talking to the wall, eyes open. When he came in, I couldn't explain what I was doing but prior to that happening sometime within the previous 2 hours, I must have been walking around the house and my legs were giving out on me, needed to hold onto the wall and fell gently on my knees a few times. I fully remember the difficulty walking. My husband woke me up because I was standing and talking to the wall, I still had the leg weakness and I needed his assistance to walk back to the bedroom. I remember consciously thinking I should go to the hospital but didn't think I should drive.

Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi there ~

I understand your concern. I believe that you have not seen a doctor for this problem. If that is the case I suggest that you consult a psychiatrist immediately. I know that you have a very common sleep disorder called as RSBD or REM(rapid eye movement) Sleep Behavior Disorder which can be treated with very commonly used medications in the psychiatric arsenal. I recommend that you also get a sleep study done (PSG and MSLT) just to make sure you do not have another sleep condition. I hope this helps. Take care and have a lovely day!
