Hi I have a racing heart and it keeps skipping beats and jumping I e had a bad cough for few days my body has ached all over headache sickness dizzeness when I cough I bring up yellow I m in a and e now they done ECG so far I guess it s ok cause they have not got back to me I m waiting to see doctor I also had surgical abortion yesterday I stayed awake I did not have genral or local my heart is really worrying me my email is YYYY@YYYY my name is Jennifer

Anaemia / Anxiety / Alcohol / Tobacco (smoking) / Caffeine (too much tea, coffee, cola) / Fever / Infection / Pain / Stress / Thyroid / Vitamin D, calcium, magnesium / Medicines like Phenylephrine used for ‘cold’; Salbutamol used for asthma and so on – all are known to cause abnormal beats...
At times, abnormal nerve paths in the heart (bypass tracts) or disease of the conduction system may be responsible!
EKG / HOLTER (24 to 48 hour ambulatory monitoring) / ECHOcardiogram / TMT (Treadmill exercise ECG) / LABORATORY work-up – may all be necessary for further assessment and assistance.
The treating doctor may suggest them depending on need, based on his assessment of the situation.
