Shoulder Pain That Radiates Down Elbow And Wrist, Numbness And Tingling In Finger. Reason ?
Hi! I have been experiencing shoulder pain that radiates down first to my elbow and then down to my wrist. Experiencing numbness and tinging not only in my fingers but my arm as well. The pain is a constant ache and is a 7-8 on a pain scale. Last week, I had an EMG which showed carpal tunnel to my wrist. No MRI or CT scan has been completed. I have been taking Ibuprofen, Aleve without relief. I also bought a carpal tunnel splint without relief. Does this sound like carpal tunnel as I thought that this particular diagnosis only incorporates the wrist and lower arm? If so, why is it hurting in my shoulder and elbow? Pain has been going on for two + weeks now and I'm miserable as well as not getting any rest. Please help!!

The symptoms due to nerve compression, Any problem in nerve at any point can affect its course. So you are feeling pain in its course. But the motor activity affect only after its compression.
Pain has been going on for two + weeks now and I'm miserable as well as not getting any rest.
Take Tab Tramadol, Seratio peptidaseand neuro protective agents and follow your doctors advice for for releasing the compression.

You are exactly right because carpal tunnel syndrome will not produces pain in the hand and fingers. So i am of the opinion that you have overlap of symptoms.
Pain coming down the whole limb is generally due to a problem in cervical spine possibly a herniated disc.
And one more point to tell you that pain arising due to a shoulder problem will not produce pain below the elbow joint level.
I suggest you to get an MRI scan done to exclude cervical disc pathology.
