Should We Stop Valparin In An ADHD Child Who Is Suffering From Seizures And Fever?

Hi I am Anand Prakash from Ranchi, India. My daughter (4 1/2 years old; 14 kg weight; ) got seizure attack about 15 second with fever in the first time on 11-03-2014; after EEG report,abnormal), Child Specialist prescribed valparin200 syrup 3ml twice a day. She also have ADHD problem and taking tab.Risdone mt .5 (1/2 tab twice a day).as prescribed by child psychiatrist. and he advised to stop VALPARIN. what we do ? kindly suggest sir.

Hi, Thanks for asking.
If the EEG report is abnormal then anti epileptic drugs need to be continued. If such a patient comes to my clinic then I would continue Valparin for her.
There is no harm in taking both Risperidone and Valparin together.
