Should Lung Function Tests Be Done For Wheezing, Cough Reflex, Metallic Taste In Phelgm With No Help From Antibiotics?

Have had a wheeze both on breathing in and breathing out to full capacity that has triggered a cough reflex for 10 weeks. Prescribed anti-biotics on two occasions with little effect and salbutomol inhaler with reasonable effect for shirt period of time. Malty/metalic taste from cough production small amounts. I feel that I should be askiing for chest xrays now and lung function tests. Non smoker and becoming quite concerned by this now.

Hi, Welcome to Health care magic forum.
Wheezing cough more than a month means it may be the tuberculosis.Other causes may be the eosinophelia, and allergy.Unless the tests are done it can't be diagnosed completely.
I advise you to consult a chest physician for diagnosis and treatment.
I usually prescribe to my patient with such symptoms cifixime,citrizine,D.E.C, terbutaline etc .
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery. Thank you.
