Should I Leave The Wound In The Belly Button Open Or Dress It?
Pierced belly button x 3 days formed red bumps. Went to local care clinic and wound cultures obtained. Placed on Bactrim BID and nystatin/triamcinolone cream. Piercing removed at time of clinic visit. Question: while cultures are still pending do you treat this wound infection with dressing coverings or do you leave open to air? If dressings, do you apply wet or dry dressings? Thanks

It is better to cover the wound with dry cotton pads after cleaning and applying antibiotic creams.This will prevent soiling and hasten healing.
