Should I Be Worried About Myometrium Being Inhomogenous?
HISTORY: 625.9-Unspecified symptom associated with female genital organs-ICD-9-CM. Irregular menstrual cycles. Menorrhagia. The uterus is normal in size measuring 7.8 x 3.9 x 4.9 cm. The myometrium is inhomogeneous. A least one area in the myometrium has the appearance of a fibroid. This measures 2.4 x 2.4 x 1.8 cm. It is relatively isoechoic to normal myometrium however and therefore the diagnosis is uncertain. MR could add further information. The ovaries are normal in size bilaterally measuring 2.2 x 2.0 x 2.3 Summers on the right and 2.3 x 1.7 x 2.1 cm and the left. Simple cysts are noted bilaterally. There is no free fluid. There is no endometrial thickening. Endometrium measures 0.5 cm. Also tested posted for hpv on last pap smear. Should I be worried. Female cancer runs in family.
I can understand your concerns. Family history of cancer and HPV positive is something to worry about. Can you tell exactly which cancer in family as inhomogenous endometrium can be present in uterine cancer. But it can be present even in fibroid. So what i will suggest is you get a dilatation & curettage done which will tell exactly what is the cause of the inhomogenous endometrium.
