Should Consuming Vitamin-D Supplements Help With Numbness And Tingling Sensation In Thumb And Fingertips?

I have had a pain in the back of my left upper arm. I must be sleeping on it weird. I never had it before. Been persisting for a about 3-4 weeks. I am on a new medication from my urologist.

Then for the past 2 weeks i am taking more vitamin d which may be helping. But, I get a bothersome numbness and tingling in my left thumb and forefinger tip. This is annoying and uncomfortable.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your clinical history is concerned I may say that you can take vitamin D regularly but it cannot help you in numbness and tingling sensations so add vitamin B complex in injectable medication. Do a clinical examination by your local doctor to rule out carpal tunnel syndrome.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
