Should A Doctor Be Consulted When Having High Blood Pressure?
HELLO, I M A 46 YEAR OLD FEMALE WITH A FAMILY HISTORY OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE. I AM ACTIVE AND OF AVERAGE WIEGHT. THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS MY BLOOD PRESSURE HAS BEEN 184/122 ON AVERAGE. I M FLUSHED, HAVE A HEAD ACHE AND OVER ALL FEELING PRETTY BAD. SHOULD I GO TO URGENT CARE OR MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY DR.? THANK YOU
I went through your details. For sure you need an immediate appointment with health care professional. But there is nothing to be alarmed of. The raise in your blood pressure could be due to stress and anxiety. Your blood pressure must have risen momentarily and should subside within two three days when you relax yourself. Over and above, blood pressure tend to vary at different time, and at different circumstances.
Blood pressure diagnosis (hypertension) is done over a period of a week's time. Multiple readings are taken and the average is taken. Please do not worry, but do consult a doctor.
