Should Utrogestan, Pregnyl And Duphaston Be Taken During Pregnancy?

In India, my wife was prescribed Miprogen 400 - BD, Duphaston 10 mg - TDS and HCG 5000 IU - Twice weekly. The doctors in Bulgaria advised to continue to follow the same advice as it was from her IVF doctors in India. Here Miprogen was replaced by Utrogestan 100 mg X 4 Tablets - BD and Pregnyl 5000 - Twice weekly and Duphaston 10 mg was continued TDS. Now she is 13 weeks pregnant as of today.

Hi

It seems that the pregnancy is an IVF pregnancy. in most cases of IVF pregnancy doctors prescribe progesterone support in 1 st trimester or 1st 12 weeks of pregnancy. all the drugs she has been taking basically support early pregnancy. After first 12 weeks placenta forms in the womb which secreates this progesterone and thus external supplemental is not necessary after 12 weeks. In my opinion you should check with your IVF doctors whether these drugs are still needed.

Thanks
