Should Plan B Be Taken With Contraceptive Pill To Avoid Pregnancy?
I have been on the contraceptive pill (loestrin fe 28day cycle) for about 3 months and now on my fourth month. The first 2months or so my period came earlier than were expected but the previous month my period came according to the pill layout so i am assuming that it had regulated my cycle(i originaly got them because of extreme cramps). I had sex with the other day with my boyfriend using a condom and using the withdrawl method but he came on my stomach and close to my vagina. I would like to know whether i at a high risk to become pregnant even though i immediately washed my area with soap and water Should i take plan b or would my loestrin pill protect me from pregnancy? Any information would be greatly appreciated.Thank you in advance.
Your Loestrin pill is 99 percent effective at preventing pregnancy alone, even if your boyfriend ejaculates inside you, because the pill inhibits ovulation. Iregular bleeding in the first few months on the pill is common, but it does not mean the pill is not working to prevent pregnancy. Using a condom in addition adds even more pregnancy protection, and sperm die when they are exposed to air, so the chance of your conceiving in this situation is really not possible. So you do not need to use emergency contraception in this situation. I hope this was helpful and answered your question. Take care
