Should Losartan And Amlodipine Besylate Taken Together?

I have been taking Losartan for a number of years. A month ago my doctor changed me to Amlodipine Besylate. She did not tell me to keep taking the Losartan with the Amlodipine until today. Should I take them together? Can I take them both in the evening?

You were taking losartan for yrs .
Losartan is angiotensin II antagonist , potent antihypertensive.
While amlodipine is calcium antagonist .
HYPOTENSIVE effect of losartan potentiated by other antihypertensive drugs like amlodipine .
So you can not take these drugs together .
But except losartan you can use a combination of amlodipine and telmisartan .
Scientific studies say that losartan with amlodipne interact ,so can't be used .
You can take amlodipine in the morning while in the evening losartan .
Other way is consult your treating doctor and get his opinion.
