Should I walk when I got bruise right above my knee after hitting a metal rod or should I wait till it recovers completely or pain subsides completely? Thank you

If you hit your thigh hard then a fracture needs to be ruled out.In case of a fracture the pain would be high and putting weight on that foot would cause much pain.Get an xray.If no fracture then you can walk.Ice fomentation and anti inflammatory drugs should help.
