Should I Take Medication For Hypothyroidism To Conceive Though Don’t Have Symptoms?

Hi, I have been diagnosed with a TSH of 9.8, my T3 and T4 levels are within normal range. However, I have no symptoms of Hypothyroidism. MY age is 3 years. I have extremely normal periods, don t feel tired or fatigued. Normal healthy person. My question is I want to conceive and do I need to take the medication for Hypothyroidism, as I don t see any symptoms.

Hi,
Perhaps you are not three years old and I believe it is a typo error. Hypothyroidism needs to be treated even though there are no overt symptoms since infertility can be associated with it as well. Yet, if you are in a quandary as to the usage of throxine, you can get free T3 and T4 levels; this can give you a conclusion on the need for the supplementation. You should monitor the levels regularly once you start treatment and adjust the dosages accordingly. Hope your query has been answered. Take care.
