Should I Have Colonoscopy For High Platelets?

A few days ago I had a funny turn where I got very lightheaded and felt like I would pass out followed by a racing heartbeat thumping in my ears I was sent by my gp to hospital where they did blood tests and I was told I had high platelets and I should have a colonoscopy and I did a 24 hour urine monitor why???? I forgot to mention also I have hypertension should I be worried?????

Your doctor may consider that there is internal bowel bleeding which may have caused your symotoms so this is reason for colonoscopy. Wish you good health. Regards
