Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.
I can understand your concern. I am sorry that you got injury over chest and head both. Headache after
head injury can be managed at home, but we have to rule out dangerous head injury. You have to observe signs of dangerous head injury
: vomiting
: bleed through nose/ear/throat
:
loss of consciousness for more than 5 min or decreasing consciousness
: onset of new focal deficit
: fits
: persistent headache not responding to painkillers
If any of above sign, consult ER as soon as possible. The doctor might advise you CT scan of head to rule out
fracture or brain bleed. Further management will be decided after CT report.
If no above sign, you can
: Apply icepacks at injury site
: take painkiller like
Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription
: avoid pressure at injury site
If no relief in pain, then you should consult doctor
For
chest pain, observe injury site for
: redness which is increasing in size
: swelling and severe pain
: breathlessness with sweating
: on pressing injury site and surroundings, if you are appreciating crepitations or entrapped air below skin layer
If such symptoms are there, it is a significant
chest injury. Consult ER as soon as possible. The doctor might advise you X ray chest to rule out ribs fracture, air or blood in chest cavity. Further plan will be decided after report.
If no above symptoms and only pain is there, you can
: Take painkiller as mentioned above
: Apply painkiller gel like Diclofenac gel thrice a day
: Apply icepacks at injury site
: Avoiding pressure at injury site
: if still no relief, consult doctor.
This chest pain or
heart cramps will subside in few days.
Hope it will help you. Thanks. Take care.
