Should I Be Worried About Future Stent Placement For Coronary Artery Disease?
I have coronary artery disease. I have had two stents placed in the LAD and the RCA 4 years ago. My ECG today shows ST and T waves abnormalities and possible anterolateral ischemia. I have unstable angina, but not having ssx that I had before the stents were placed. I am wondering if this is something that just goes along with CAD or should I be worried that I could possible have to have another stent placement or bypass surgery in the future. Both of my parents had bypass surgery. My father was 58 and my mom was 71. I am 57 and otherwise in good health and healthy weight. Thanks.
hello and welcome -i would like to ask you the stent placed - drug eluting or bare metal -the rate of re-blockage in case of bare metal stents in higher than with drug-eluting stents -in case you are having unstable-angina- then it is advisable to consult your doctor for a check coronary angiography(CAG) and if there is significant blockage in coronary arteries , you should undergo revascularization in form of stenting or CABG depending on the CAG finding
