Should I Be Concerned For The Ultrasound Scan Showing A Shadow On The Baby And The Baby Is Upside Down?

I just got a call from my doctor that said they found a shadow on my baby s heart at my anatomy scan yesterday (20w). She said it could be nothing and that if the baby was moving a lot or was in a difficult position (which she was, she completely flipped upside down and was head down into my pelvis at this point) that it could have created a shadow. Other than that, she said that the baby looked great but she wants me to go for a Level II ultrasound just to be on the safe side. Should I be worried? It s 5 days until Christmas and I m sure it is going to be a long wait to actually get in for the appt.

Hi the baby will be moving in the womb and so no need to worry for its position as there will be constant change in its positions. Since your doctor has not confirmed any problem you need not to be worry. There may be problem in the investigation as the report based on the visualization which is difficult during movement of the baby. Just to rule out any problem your doctor has asked you for repeat scan. Get done it once for your satisfaction and to rule out any problrm.
