Should I Be Concerned For My Echo Test?

My ekg was normal but my echo test came back stating i had reduced es abnormal wall motion. Can you explain and is it serious. I m going for a nuclear stree test on 2/18. If it was very serious, wouldn t they do the stress test sooner. Thanks for your help. I recently lost my husband and have been under an extreme amount of stress. Thank you

Hello,

abnormal wall motion is usually the result of ischemia (reduced blood flow) to this part of the heart. It could be the result of a prior myocardial infarction (even if you never had any symptoms). The nuclear test will highlight ischemic areas. The normal ECG and the lack of symptoms make sure that this findings is not an acute one and that's why you're not in the hospital right now!

I hope I've helped!
You can contact me again, if you'd like, for further information.

Kind Regards!
