Should HIV Be Retested After Initial Testing Was Negative?

hi doctor I have taken HIV test 4 month and 7 days after potential to exposure to HIV.The result was negative (alltest ELISA,WB, P24 ) Now i completed to 7 months from the the potential to expose to HIV ? I want check again or that 4 months 7 days enough for findout HIV?

Thank you for query.If the test done was for antibody and confirmatory western blot also for P 24 antigen at 4 months .then it is negative for antigen and antibodies to HIV after 4 moths of exposure.So you can allay fears of HIV.I do not see any need for retest again at 7 months now.The fear and anxiety of patients make us to do repeat tests.You can get back to me for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and Venereologist
