Should Bepanthene Be Applied For Skin Irritation And Redness?

Hello, I am 21 year-old male. I have just used Veet on my back and my shoulders. It hurts too much and it went red, even though I immediately realized and washed the area in 10 seconds after applying. It hurts like a sunburn. What should I do? I currently have Bepanthene cream. Should I apply it?

hello and welcome to HCM
You have developed an irritant contact reaction to the hair removal cream. Do keep in mind that these creams are very strong and not meant for full body application, and not for fine hairs. Most importantly, always do a skin sensitivity test on the wrist or arm before trying any new chemicals and cosmetics, as advised on the product.
And do not use it again as your skin is sensitive to it and you will have the same reaction again.
Since you have severe redness and burning it would be better to apply a steroid cream like mometasone twice daily for 4-5 days till it is relieved. For the irritation, during the day apply a menthol or calamine lotion with aloe vera to soothe and dry the skin. Dont apply any harsh disinfectants or soaps on the area. Clean only with water if necessary. Keep it dry.
Watch over the area, look for any pus, watery discharge, blisters or skin peeling. See a dermatologist in this case. You may need antibiotics. If you see no improvement, or it is worse see a doctor immediately.
bepanthene cream may help slightly till you can start on treatment advised.
Hope this helps.
