Greetings. Welcome to HCM and thank you for your question. I understand your concern.

It would really help me if you had also provided the real figures of LDL-cholesterol. However, if I would be your doctor, judging that you are under 45 years old, I would only try a strict low-cholesterol high-fibre diet for three months, and then, if your high cholesterol, LDL-cholesterol and triglycerides remained high, I would proceed to treatment, first with a statin. You can eat chocolate, but not in excessive amounts. Your diet should mainly be without fast food, less red meat and more chicken and fish, more dark green leafy vegetables and fruit up to 300 g a day, and physical activity for 60 minutes every day, for seven days a week. Then, three months later your upper mentioned tests should be run and decide whether you should be started on a statin or a fibrate, or both.

I hope I was helpful with my answer. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Meriton
