Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi friend,
Welcome to Health Care Magic

Shortness of breath on effort is typical of left heart failure. That could mean several things – like malfunctioning valve, obstruction or leak, associated Coronary Artery Disease and so on. He needs to be examined and investigated.
You have not stated his personal habits, co-morbidities, even age
It is better to see his cardiologist, as soon as possible...it is not safe or wise to wait.

Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless

did he have same breathlessness before trip ?
if it started recently then it needs attention.
Breathlessness can be because of many things and not possible to assess without examing patient and certain investigation, so i suggest you to see a cardiologist asap. health is more important and you can always have another trip!
