Shortness Of Breath, Difficulty In Walking And Ulcer In Tongue After Taking Antibiotics For Sinus Infection. How To Cure?

I have had a bad sinus infection for about 9 weeks now and was put on an antibiotic which made me feel very week and short of breath and had difficulty walking. I called my cardiologist and explained ,my symptom. and he asked me to come to his office for a different antibiotic, which I filled. I still did not feel well and my tongue was red. Then I went to an emergent center and they admitted to to the hospital . 'when the doctors came in the morning I show them my tongue and told them I was having difficulty eating. The doctor look at my tongue and told me it looked ulcerated. However it has been a week since I left the hospital and my tongue still bothers me. What can I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi ! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.

If I were your doctor, I would advise you for a povidone iodine mouth wash three to four times a day and to avoid hot spicy food. However, considering your chronic sinus infection, I would also advise you a broad spectrum antibiotic and simple steam inhalations . If these measures do not improve your condition, then I would advise you to see an ENT specialist for treatment.

I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. Wishing you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
